Civic Schools
Civic Schools is a new initiative of the Civic Ed Project that provides schools with the resources, tools, and processes needed to foster a climate for civic engagement and learning. Through the Civic Schools Network, we celebrate civics education and promote collaboration between and among schools, organizations, and service providers. Our approach has been endorsed by the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools and praised by leading scholars in the field of civic education:
"At a time when civic education is languishing and American democracy is at risk, Civic Schools offers a courageous and path-breaking alternative. Not satisfied with offering courses or projects, Civic Schools works with the entire community of a school--its students, teachers, and other adults--to build a civic mission and to help make the school’s overall climate supportive of citizenship. The Civic Schools strategy is strongly anchored in experience and research and holds great promise.- Peter Levine, Director of CIRCLE (The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement), "
Civic Schools goes International
