Our Mission

The Civic Ed Project prepares youth for active citizenship and inspires lifelong participation in our democracy. We achieve this mission by designing and implementing civics programs and curricula and by helping schools foster a climate for youth civic engagement and learning.

Civic Schools 

Overview

Civic Schools is a new initiative of the Civic Ed Project that provided educators with tools and processes to foster dynamic civic learning opportunities. Civic Schools is part of a broader movement to revive the civic mission of education and close the civic learning opportunity gap that exists between low socio-economic students and their wealthier counterparts across the country.

We offer schools a range of programs and services, including assessment tools, curriculum consulting, professional development programs, web resources. We also faciltate a strategic planning process that engages all members of a school community or district.
