Welcome!
This is an exciting time for the Civic Ed Project, a Boston-based non-profit organization that promotes youth civic engagement through innovative civics programs and curricula. We achieve our mission in collaboration with public schools and school districts, universities, community based-organizations, and other educational non-profits.
We are currently developing a new initiative, TEENPEACE, that will train high school students to use restorative practices to resolve conflicts and build a culture of respect at their schools.
Some highlights of our recent work include:
- Helping students run a Restorative Peer Justice System at Social Justice Academy, a public high school in Hyde Park;
- Designing a 4-year Law & Justice Pathway for law themed high schools in collaboration with the Education Development Center;
- Developing a new high school civics course for the Boston Public Schools that focuses on youth civic engagement;
- Running the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project at Northeastern University School of Law, which uses trained law students to teach constitutional law using landmark cases about education and student rights issues;
- Hosting an annual Bill of Rights Day Program at Framingham High School in collaboration with Staples Inc. legal team;
- Co-Hosting a Constitution Day Forum featuring First Amendment pioneer Mary Beth Tinker in collaboration with the American Civil Liberties Union on Massachusetts.
Support our 2010 Annual Fund
Civic Ed Project has launched an Annual Fund with the goal of raising $100,000 by the end of our fiscal year to further support the work we are doing with youth in the greater Boston area.
